Gregory Hardy received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Rochester in 2007, which led to a two year research position at Massachusetts General Hospital where he studied cardiovascular disease. Currently, Greg is a second year graduate student in the Ph.D. program of the department of mechanical engineering and materials science. His research interests include how lipid membrane organization influences protein interactions. Greg is collaborating with the Duke Human Vaccine Institute to study how HIV-1 broadly neutralizing antibodies interact with the viral membrane. Greg was recently awarded a summer fellowship from the National Science Foundation to research lipid membrane domains in Australia. In addition to his research, Greg is an active member of the Graduate School’s Environmental Green Team where he has recently launched a website dedicated to growing the bicycle community at Duke and in Durham.
